Hobbister Moor, Orkney
Situated on the outskirts of Kirkwall, the northernmost traditional whisky distillery in Scotland. Founded on a site previously occupied by an illicit still operated by Magnus Eunson — a church officer and notorious smuggler. The irony of its subsequent legal existence is not lost on those who know the history.

Status
One of Three Survivors
Campbeltown was once the whisky capital of the world, home to thirty-four licensed distilleries at its nineteenth-century peak. Glen Scotia is one of only three that survive today — a survivor of economic depression, prohibition, and the inevitable consolidation of an industry that was once Scotland's most prosperous rural trade.

Profile
Unsung Speyside Treasure
One of Speyside's quietly remarkable distilleries, Glenburgie operates with little fanfare and considerable skill. Its spirit is almost exclusively committed to blending houses, which has kept it largely unknown to the single malt public — which means those of us who know it consider ourselves fortunate.
